The primary
reason, I believe, so many of us are struggling with weight, food
and exercise is this: we've set up our self-care and fitness like
a marriage doomed to fail, with judgment and distain as the core motivator.
This does not work, for marriage, or self-care.
Establishing
a self-care or fitness program based on distain or judgment toward
the self is counter productive, both to being happy and reaching one's
fitness goals. Would you take a spouse you disliked and desperately
want to change, with the hopes of a happy, loving relationship? Of
course not! Why then would you start a self-care program, a new way
of treating yourself, hating your body and wanting desperately to
change it, with the hopes of being happy and loving yourself?
I want
to help people love themselves enough to take great care of their
whole selves, inside and out. There is no relationship more important
than the one with the self. This relationship is the most prominent
and powerful in one's life and is reflected throughout a person's
entire life -- in one's relationships, environment, finances, and
particularly in one's self-care. The surest path to lasting fitness
is by loving yourself fit.
My intention
is to assist my clients in creating fun and easy self-care, meaningful
motivation and weight loss success, in healthy and loving ways. Based
on the premise that being healthy and fit begins from within, together
we can use the "Love Yourself Fit!"®
Philosophy to strategize a lifestyle that creates integrity within
you and produces the results you desire.
